Name: Jim Beam Ghost

Overall Character: Simple, young but slightly sweet

Recommended Drinker: Someone who wants a white whiskey that still tastes a bit like actual bourbon, but mostly cocktail drinkers who want to add bourbon/whiskey to their mixture, but don’t want it to affect the color of the cocktail.

Name: Death’s Door White Whisky

Overall Character: Blandly sweet and bitter

Name: Buffalo Trace White Dog Mash #1

Overall Character: Tequila-like, with a hint of bourbon flavors

Recommended Drinker: Tequila drinkers may like this, and to me it’s the best white whiskey there is, but really the absolute best reason to buy this is to age it yourself, since Buffalo Trace bottles it at distilled strength, so it’s the exact same spirit they put into their casks. You can even buy mini charred barrels from the distillery gift shop and varous websites.

Name: Glenmorangie Pride 1981

Overall Character: Sweet, spicy, nutty and smoky. A little of everything with a lot of power and balance.

Recommended Drinker: This is very rare, and very very expensive. If you’re lucky enough to try it, it’s a must. Try sometime in your life if you can. This is surely not the best whisky in the world, and likely not even the best I’ve had (I’ve had a lot so it’s hard to remember. That’s why I started taking notes). However, it was certainly one of the most memorable, and it would be for anyone else, too.

Name: Glenmorangie Signet

Overall Character: Sweet and bitter chocolate with touches of smoke

Recommended Drinker: This is good if you’re looking for a rich and sweet scotch, or something with a unique flavor profile. The chocolate isn’t just implied or subjective. You can pretty much definitely taste it, though still being subtle to be nowhere near the realm of flavored whisky. If you’re looking for a sweet flavored whisky, go somewhere else.
