Name: Ichiro’s Malt Japanese Blended Whisky Houou-uhi

Overall Character: Caramel cupcakes and tea

Recommended Drinker: Definitely for any single malt drinker, and probably any whisky drinker in general. It’s light and well balanced, with good flavor. It’s perfect for collectors or people on vacation who want something reasonably priced and rare. This was bottled for Isetan and stayed on the shelves for a very long time. Hopefully future releases will be the same.

Name: Benriach 15 Dark Rum Wood Finish

Overall Character: Rum raisin and sugary summer fruits

Recommended Drinker: Good if you want just a hint of fruits and spices, but don’t want a sherry finish whisky. This isn’t for anyone looking for a clear rum finish. It has the sugar of a rum, but more fruits you would find in a sherry or bordeaix finish.

Name: Benriach 35 1976 Peated

Overall Character: Tropical fruits and spicy salty oak

Recommended Drinker: Good if you like Highland Park and anything that is only moderately peated. This is also good for anyone who wants a superb peated Speyside single malt. It’s also good for collectors. However, its not for anyone with a tight budget or who likes heavy peat monsters.

Name: Benriach 16 Sauternes Finish

Overall Character: Creamy sweetness with light fruits

Recommended Drinker: This is best left for normal Speyside malt drinkers. The Sauternes doesn’t stand out enough to recommend it to people seeking interesting cask finishes. It’s good if you like official bottles of decent age, without killing your bank account.
